open freestyle

Supervised freestyle ice time designed for focused, independent skating practice AND COACHED TRAINING

Visiting skaters are welcome to participate in Open Freestyle sessions and may purchase single or multi-hour passes.

  • Open Freestyle sessions provide supervised ice time for skaters to practice independently or train with a coach in a structured freestyle environment. These sessions support skill development and allow skaters to work on elements, programs, and drills in a structured freestyle environment.

    • Skaters who can practice safely and independently

    • Skaters training with a Skate VIDA coach

    • Skaters working with outside coaches (with approval)

    • Visiting or outside skaters seeking freestyle ice time

    • Skaters preparing for tests, competitions, or performances

    Skaters are expected to demonstrate appropriate awareness, control, and freestyle etiquette.

  • Coached lessons are permitted during Open Freestyle sessions.

    Skate VIDA Coaches

    Lessons with Skate VIDA coaches may be scheduled during Open Freestyle according to coach availability.

    Outside Coaches

    Outside coaches are welcome to teach during Open Freestyle sessions with the following requirements:

    • Proof of current insurance and credentials must be submitted to
      contact@skate-vida.com

    • $10/hour coaching commission is required

    These requirements help ensure a safe and professional training environment for all skaters.

    • Skaters are expected to follow freestyle etiquette and safety guidelines

    • Music usage and run-throughs may be limited based on session flow

    • All skaters must sign in and out with start and end times of ice usage

    • Ice fees should be paid in advance via online invoice and are transferrable but non-refundable

    • Beginner skaters who require support/supervision

    • Skaters without basic freestyle etiquette

    Open Freestyle may not be appropriate for beginner skaters who require ongoing instruction or supervision.

  • Outside skaters and drop-in participants may purchase freestyle passes:

    • 1-Hour Open Freestyle Pass: $20

    • 2-Hour Open Freestyle Pass: $35

    Passes apply to the scheduled session time and are subject to ice availability.

    Advance registration is recommended when possible.

  • Open Freestyle sessions complement private lessons, specialty classes, and off-ice training by providing dedicated time for independent practice and skill reinforcement.

Skate VIDA welcomes all skaters to utilize ice time for practice during Open Freestyle sessions including visiting skaters from out of town and local skaters not enrolled in our program.
