Why Not All Skating Camps Are Created Equal

Many camps are designed to fill the day.

Ours are designed to build skaters.

If you’ve ever wondered why some kids plateau—or lose interest—it often comes down to the structure and intention behind their training.

What Makes Skate VIDA Camps Different:

Professional Coaches—Not Babysitters

Your child is learning from experienced, high-level coaches, not teenage counselors.

We teach:

  • Proper technique

  • Safe skill progression

  • Confidence through mastery

Training-Focused, Not Daycare

Every moment on the ice has a purpose.

Skaters:

  • Build real skills

  • Receive individualized feedback

  • Progress in a structured, supportive environment

They leave better than they arrived—every single day.

Half-Day Camps for Maximum Impact

We intentionally keep camps half-day.

Why it works:

  • Better focus

  • Less fatigue

  • Higher-quality learning

More hours ≠ more progress.
Better training = better results.

Small Groups, Real Attention

We keep groups small so every skater is:

  • Seen

  • Supported

  • Coached

No getting lost in the crowd.

Consistency That Builds Confidence

One camp is great. Multiple camps are transformational.

With weekly sessions all summer, skaters can:

  • Reinforce skills

  • Build momentum

  • Feel confident on the ice

A Proven Approach

Our recent Spring Break camp showed exactly what’s possible with the right structure.

Skaters:

  • Improved balance and control

  • Learned new skills in days—not months

  • Built confidence and independence

  • Had FUN while working hard

Parents didn’t just see busy kids—they saw real progress.

  • All ages are welcome! School-break camps tend toward skaters aged 6-14, though younger and older skaters are very much still welcome to participate.

We can include skaters as young as 3 provided they can handle a 3-hour half day or 6-hour full day of programming.

If we have enough older skaters interested, we are always happy to create separate teen and adult tracks for any of our camps, classes, and workshops.

    Inquire further at contact@skate-vida.com.

  • No! Beginners are welcome.

  • Yes! Camp skills classes are divided by level so that everyone gets the coach attention that they need for their current skating level, beginners, intermediate, and advanced skaters alike.

We structure camp curriculum based on enrollment. For example, beginner skaters will have separate programming based on Learn to Ice Skate skills, and more advanced skaters will take more Specialty Classes.

  • Camp pricing includes ice fees, lesson fees, and skate rentals if needed.

Private lessons may be scheduled at an additional cost based on the coach’s private lesson fee.

  • No, private lessons are not included in a camp or workshop pricing unless explicitly stated (for example, a choreography camp that includes private program lessons).

Private lessons can be added at an additional charge before, during or after scheduled camp programming based on availability.

  • If you are unable to attend due to illness, injury or family emergency we will refund your camp registration cost in full in the form of credit toward future camps, ice fees, or coaching fees.

If you choose cancel for any other reason, we ask for at least 24 hours cancellation notice, otherwise we cannot guarantee refund.
